MINUTES OF AMERICAN LEGION RIDERS
Meeting , July 18, 2019
A regular meeting of the American Legion Riders was held at the American Legion Post 36, Jersey Shore, PA, on July 18, 2019 y. The meeting convened at 1900 with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call of officers with 7 officers and 11 members in attendance
Secretary’s Report: The Secretary’s report for the regular meeting from June 20, 2019 was read and approved. Motion to accept report as read: 1st Joe, 2nd Larry; motion passed unanimously.
Guest Presentation: Presentation was made regarding the Heroes and Horses Charity Ride. H/H staff will man the stops. Stops are Cross Roads, Wagon Wheel, Mt Top, JSAL.
ALR will provide hot dogs and burgers. H/H staff will provide side dishes. Registration will begin at 0930-1130. Unstructured ride.
Treasurer’s Report: Read and approved. Motion to accept report as read 1st
Outstanding Bills – Wreaths $134.00 and Della for candy and decorations $55.79
Motion to pay bills 1st Terry 2nd Rose. Passed Unanimously.
Membership Report: 57 members.
Old Business: Heroes and Horses Ride Meat=Jeff, Buns=Della
Golf Trophy was delivered to State College AL.
Christmas in July to be accomplished July 28, 2019. Meet at JSAL 0800. Stop at Holidaysburg AL for lunch. August 13, 2019 will be swearing in of officers.
Comities: Fund Raising-first presentation of raffling off a smoker, meat and cash. Terry will provide prices next meeting.
Activities: Heroes and Horses Ride on the radio over the next couple weeks.
Public Relations: Nothing
New Business: SVBT would like to do another benefit ride for Caleb, October 19, 2019. Asked us to take responsibility for the ride again. Motion to help out with benefit 1st Terry, 2nd Larry. Passed.
Motion to donate $250.00 to Boulder Crest Retreat for Military and First Responders. 1st Terry 2nd Steve. Passed.
New Flag stand for float, Monkey Boy and Wes will take care of that.
Special Meeting was held July 28, 2019 to vote on $2000.00 Loan for Charlie Kline, for the final cost of getting his bathroom handicap accessible. Passed,
Correspondence: Letter from Rebecca Loner of JS. Husband is a Veteran with cancer. Home is in need of repair. Suggestion the family start with the Veterans Administration. Tabled until next month to receive more info.

Secretary’s Report: The Secretary’s report for the regular meeting from May 16, 2019 was read and approved. Motion to accept report as read: 1st Rose, 2nd Larry; motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report: Read and approved. Motion to accept report as read 1st
Outstanding Bills – Della $41.86, Addies $21.20,Mike Duda (Putter) $53.00. Motion to pay bills 1st
Membership Report: 56 members.
Old Business: 1468 gun raffle tickets sold. Winners were Terry Wool Gary Muckin Bob Brungard. The Fallen Soldier Ride was a success $3629.93.
Stars are needed for next years Fallen Soldier Ride.
Heroes and Horses Ride now scheduled for August 18, 2019.
Shanksville Ride June 29, 2019 meet at Post 36 at 0830.

Public Relations: Heroes and Horses/Vicki Hancock to be interviewed by The BEAR.
New Business: Town Meeting, Need new decorations.

Mike will write up Consolidated Chapter Report and Rider of the Year.
Special Meeting was held to vote on Lift Chair for James Johnson. Passed, chair was purchased and delivered.
Nominations: No one ran opposed so the vote was cast by the secretary.

Secretary’s Report: The Secretary’s report for the regular meeting from April 18, 2019 was read and approved. Motion to accept report as read: 1st Nadine, 2nd
Presentation: Heroes and Horses Video was shown. Information regarding the video and the program was provided by Vicky Hancock following the video. Heroes and Horses has 28 clients and functions totally on donations.
The June 8, 2019 Heroes and Horses Ride was discussed: Terry has the route planned, Bill has PR through 92.1 radio station.
Treasurer’s Report: Read and approved. Motion to accept report as read 1st Rose, 2nd Larry, passed unanimously. There were no outstanding bills.
Membership Report: 56 members.
Old Business: Fallen Soldier Ride: May 19, 2019, registration begins at 0900 – 1130 hrs. $10 for dinner only, $10 for riders. Meal Pulled pork 3 sides and rolls. Post 36 to provide hot dogs and hamburgers.
Route will be Valley Inn to Loyalsock Hotel to Hughesville Legion to Muncy Legion. Safety concerns are listed on the directions.
Motion to pay Joan $250.00. 1st Steve 2nd Monkey Boy.
No new information on the Purple Heart Ride.
Golf- registration at 0800 People needed 3 for registration, 2 for putting contest, 2 for Tee Box purchase and 4 to put out signs.
Comities: Gun raffle ticket sales $1556.00.
Activities: Scholarship Assignments :
Fun Ride to Shanksville was discussed.
Merchandise to be sold May 19, 2019.
New Business: Christmas in July will be July 28, 2019. Motion to donate $500 1st terry 2nd Steve. Passed. Norbert Krause.

A regular meeting of the American Legion Riders was held at the American Legion Post 36,
Secretary’s Report: The Secretary’s report for the regular meeting from December 20, 2018, was read and approved. Motion to accept report as read: 1st Joe, 2nd Larry; motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report: Read and approved. There was an outstanding bill for the Donnie Thompson patches from PAMP for $397.50 Motion to accept report as read 1st Alan 2nd Terry, passed unanimously. Motion to pay the outstanding bills: 1st Wes, 2nd Alan; motion passes unanimously.
Membership Report: No Membership Report. Previous 66 members
Old Business: After Christmas party was a success.
Larry donated POW and Marine Corps Flags.
Post and Riders Dues Must be paid. Post dues must be paid before we can pay the ALR per-capita.
2019 Events: March 3, Bingo, May 19, Fallen Soldier Ride, May 20 Golf Tournament, June 15, Heroes and Horses, August 18 Post 36 Veteran’s Ride.
Bingo: Terry will be Caller, Willie 3 boxes of hot dogs, Jeff hot dog buns, Pampered Chef Books are out.
New Business: Four Corners ride,
Gun Raffle Motion to have raffle all guns 1st Larry 2nd Willie passed unanimously, Motion to keep gun raffle tickets at $2 and 10 tickets per book. 1st Alan 2nd Terry.
Committee: Fund raising- Gun Raffle Covered in New Business.
Scholarship – Motion to give 3 scholarships at $750.00 per scholarship. 1st Terry 2nd Alan.

Good of the Order: Riders Dues $15.00. Must pay Post Dues in order to pay ALR.
Summit Meeting will be held at the Beech Creek Legion February 3, 2019.
Rolling Thunder: last year in DC. New Berlin ALR are reserving a block of rooms.

A regular meeting of the American Legion Riders was held at the American Legion Post 36, Jersey Shore, PA, on November 28, 2018. The meeting convened at 1900 with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call of officers with 6 officers and 13 members in attendance. This meeting was held on November 28, 2018 because the regular meeting of November 15, 2018 was cancelled for snow.

Secretary’s Report: The Secretary’s report for the regular meeting from October 18, 2018, was read and approved. Motion to accept report as read: 1st Della, 2nd Wes; motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report: Read and approved. There were outstanding bills to M. Duda $26.58, K. Engel $59.34 and D. McCracken $222.35. Motion to accept report as read and pay the outstanding bills: 1st Terry, 2nd Carl; motion passes unanimously.
Membership Report: 66 members
Old Business: 20 strong ride raised over $8000.00
Carol Mann Patches are in.
Benefit for Sgt at Arms Donnie Thompson was held 11-3-18.
Gutters on the Post were cleaned on 10-28-18.
Motion to donate $500.00 to the Wahoo Drive Memorial to purchase part of the memorial with Post 36: 1st Dan, 2nd Art Motion passed.
Rider’s Dues are to be paid at the December Meeting. All Rider’s are responsible for insuring their Post Dues are paid.
New Business: Fallen, Not Forgotten presentation will be held at the Lockhaven Elks. It is being presented by the VFW, VA Rep. Office.
Terry made a motion to donate $500.00 to the VA Benefit Center in Lockhaven. 2nd by Carl. Motioned passed.
D.L. – The ALR website needs refunding after the first of the new year. The cost is $29.00 for 1 year, $14.00 per year for 10 years. Question was asked regarding the cost for 5 years. This was tabled until more information could be obtained.

Flags need to be checked and replaced. Motion to replace worn flags was 1st Terry and 2nd Dan. Larry Smith will donate a POW/MIA and Marine Corps flag.
A new flag stand is needed. Design to be worked on.
Committee: Fund raising- Spring gun raffle information will be obtained by Terry. Bingo – Fire Company Hall will cost $220.00 plus $50.00 for Kitchen. The Elks will be free. Preferred day for Bingo is 3-2-19 back up is 3-23-19. Motion to spend $1500.00 on Bingo Prizes (Vera Bradly, Pampered Chef and Coach) 1st Wes, 2nd Larry, carried unanimously.
Activities: After Christmas Party scheduled for 1-5-19 at the Legion. Happy Hour 1700-1800, Dinner at 1800. Cost $5.00 per person. Food the same as last year, Lottery Tree for raffle. Motion 1st Terry, 2nd Bill. Motion passed unanimously.

Secretary’s Report: The Secretary’s report for the regular meeting from September 20, 2018, were read and approved. Motion to accept reports as read: 1st Rose, 2nd Bill; motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report: Read and approved. There were no outstanding bills. Motion to accept report as read: 1st Rose, 2nd Terry; motion passes unanimously.
Membership Report: 66 members
Guest Jason Thompson informed us of Sgt At Arms, Donnie Thompson’s status. Also provided information regarding two fund raising events 1. A Pool Tournament at the Moose and 2. A Poker Tournament in Williamsport. Corporate sponsors will match the donations generated from the events. Motion to facilitate the fund raising effort 1st Rose, 2nd Lisa motion passed unanimously. Motion to donate $1000 to the effort was 1st Wes, 2nd Terry. This money was to be donated to the pool tournament. Passed unanimously.
A motion was made to donate $500 to Veteran Slugger Bower, he has a bad heart, 1st Terry, 2nd Joe. Motion passed unanimously.
Old Business: 1. The 20 Strong ride was finalized: Breakfast at 0700-1100, $10 all you can eat. 0700 Glenn and Jeff start selling tickets. 1200 Kick stands up. 1600 Meal and Chinese Auction.
Carol Mann Patches are being prepared. 40 patches are being ordered.
New Business: 1. Lycoming County Vet Memorial Donation. It will cost $4000 to buy the whole monument, Suggested ALR donate $500 if Post 36 is going to buy the whole monument.
2. Golf Tournament will be held May 20, 2019.
Committee: 1. Fund Raising: Bingo, Jodi presented a summary of the Bingo event. ALR members will check on building use prices in the area, Sue-Elks, Terry-Fire Halls.
Activities: 1. Veteran Parade 11-10-18 in Hughesville. Meet at 1100 parade at 1400. SAL donated $100 for candy/flag fund. 2. Christmas Party. Motion to have the party at the JS Elks on 1-5-2019. 1st Della, 2nd Jodi. Further discussion at the November meeting.
Correspondence: Thank you from Donald Ecler Family. Thank You from Matt Mann. He plans to reopen the Bar on 10-20-2018.
Good of the Order: 1. Cleaning Post 36 gutters Sunday October 28, 2018 at 1000.

Note: During the 20 Strong Ride it was understood the ALR had no determined the amount they would donate to the Leon Family. A meeting was quickly arranged to set an amount. Motion to donate $500 was 1st Wes 2nd Steve. Motion carried unanimously.
